I discovered yoga in a local YMCA about 10 years ago. A new teacher was hired for the Pilates class I was attending and her training was mostly as a yoga instructor.  She infused the class with many yoga elements and encouraged a few of the students to try a full yoga class.  I was skeptical at first but thought I would give it a try.  I was amazed how great I felt after the classes. I felt so relaxed yet energized. I had not encountered this feeling with any other workout. I was hooked! It wasn't long till I wanted to know more about yoga and what about it made me feel so much better physically and mentally.

I decided to enter a 200 hour teacher training course in Cincinnati with Anna Ferguson. I wanted to be able to share my love of yoga with my family and friends but safely. While taking the training, I learned more about the history and philosophy of yoga and was amazed how yoga was also deepening my spiritual side as well. The many years of depression was starting to lift and I felt wonderful.

I have since gone on to enroll in the 500 hour teacher training at Yoga on High in Columbus. I finished my training February 2014.  Through this training, I have been exposed to many great world renown yoga teachers. I have learned how yoga can be used as therapy to help those afflicted with cancer, MS, auto-immune diseases and much more.

It is so wonderful to hear students stop me after or before a class to share how much better they feel or that they have been able to be taken of medication because yoga has helped to alleviate their health issue!

Yoga has helped people for thousands of years.  I feel blessed and honored to be able to preserve and pass on this ancient practice called yoga.
